I love Brasil and its people! I have had the good fortune in my life to travel quite a bit; Brasil is the only country
I've wanted to make my home. Like most S.A. countries, though the general populous is very poor, its people are rich in the
true values of life. Families, friendship, kindness, cordiality, volunteerism, spirituality, are the pillars of society. Brasil
however expands on what is the norm.
I've gotten lost in Brasil and after having spent hours trying to help me find my way home; been
invited into the home of those helping me fed, given a bed for the night, and breakfast in the morning. All of this with apologies
that these people were unable to help still to find my way the next day and extracted promises that I would be sure to let
them know I was ok that evening! Jonhson & Cristiane are now some of my closest friends with whom I have exchanged
personal Bibles and love dearly.
Brasilians are particularly kind to children, they watch over neighbors and strangers children
as though they were their own. The kindness’ I have seen administered by others to the children of complete strangers would
be unfathomable elsewhere in the world. One situation comes to mind in particular. I was sitting at a traffic light with my
closest Brasilian friend Josie and her children. The people in the car next to us had opened a bag of cookies and were distributing
them to their children. Ours of course noticed this and were looking over at the adjacent car with longing. Out of their window
comes the bag of cookies with the encouragement for our children to take as many as they wished. This may seem like a small
thing, but it's something I've never seen occur anywhere else in the world and after all...
"The little things mean a lot."

Brasilian society is a society permeated by love. Love of life, love of God, love of family, love of friends, love of
music, love of food, love of recreation, love of travel, love for the sake of love! Brasilians know how to relax, have
a good time, and enjoy themselves and others. I have never felt more welcome, respected, and cared for anywhere else in the
world. I have been blessed with the good fortune to have been "adopted" by a Brasilian woman Terezinha whom I consider my
Brasilian mother, who treats me, as though I were her son! I have been befriended by a man Miguel, who is my mentor in this
business and is providing me with an avenue to a new and better life. God has blessed me with a woman whom I love and
who loves me no matter how late I show up, broke because I spent all my money on rocks, and dead beat from running around
all day! Yes, I love Brasil, I love her people, I love their way of life, I love her mountains, rivers, forests, and beaches.
And, I hope someday to repay her in kind for all that Brasil has given me.
