About Stones of Brasil
How It Began
Jim was a business owner (North-West Barn Rebuilders) in and a member of a family known throughout
the Fairfield County CT area for their professionalism, integrity, and quality of services and products. At the suggestion
of a friend, Josi Rodregus, he traveled to Minas Gerais, Brasil and stayed for most of the 2002 - 2003 winter season. Jim
has osteoporosis / osteo-arthritis, as Josi had suggested the hot, dry climate of Governador Valadares was very good for him
and he felt better than he had in years. While there he met a gentleman, Miguel, who offered to
teach him the stones business. The idea just clicked! He was taken by the beautiful stones that he had seen in the street
markets and at local dealers, it was much less physically demanding than barn rebuilding, he felt great in the climate, and
key it would provide an income in U.S. dollars. Upon returning to CT, after some investigation into the potential of the business
and consideration concerning life in a foreign country, he launched Ziegler Imported Stone
and laid plans to return to Brasil to live. Stones of
Brasil began in 2004 as a discount ID on eBay and eventually developed into
a separate web site. In the past seven years Jim has broken into wholesale sales and sold over two thousand individual pieces
to people all over the world. Stones of Brasil has thrice been in the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show and twice in the Denver
Gem & Mineral Show. He is extremely grateful that he has many happy clients. "Deus é bom!"

Marinelia Marinelia,
Jim's wife of the last five years is a sweet girl. They met while Marinelia was working at a sidewalk cafe that Jim frequented
daily. (Hmmm, I wonder why?) They knew each other for two years before dating and married six months later on 03/26/05. Marinelia is devoutly Evangelical and involved in her church. She helps Jim out with the business, translating in
the rough spots and mailing packages when Jim is away. She also runs the house, takes care of Jim and the dog Yako (No Easy
Feat, That Dog Is Like A Little Kid!) and runs around helping out her family and whomever else needs her in her free time.
All this and looks beautiful the whole time..."I just don't know how she does it!" Those
of you who have been with us for a while know of Marinelia's U.S. Visitor Visa Saga (It's the latest Tele Novela sensation!).
The latest update is that suspiciously Germany, The Netherlands, England, and France have all let Marinelia in and out of
their countries. So, how about it United States of America, my own country; are you going to let her in now?
